Biography
Shaylin is an established dancer, instructor, choreographer and adjudicator who has been involved in the dance industry for over 15 years. She is an incredibly versatile and well-rounded performer who specializes in a wide variety of dance styles, winning many prestigious awards as a competitor and choreographer. Her choreography has been featured at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto for International Woman’s Day in front of almost 10,000 fans. Many of her students continue to receive special awards, overall awards, costume awards, scholarships and continue to rank at the top tiers of their categories at competitions. Shaylin travels across Canada adjudicating numerous dance competitions and festivals every year and continues to teach master classes and workshops across the GTA. She is currently the captain of the Raptor 905 Sauga City Dancers.
She is privileged to have trained with the National Ballet of Canada and the Quinte Ballet School throughout her career. Shaylin is a graduate from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) with Honours in Performance Dance and has performed in and choreographed numerous works over her four years at Ryerson. At Ryerson she studied the following: Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Partnering, Improvisation, Musical Theatre, Singing and Acting under the direction of teachers and mentors that include Karen Duplisea, Vicki St. Denys, Tanya Evidente, Lourdes Hernandez, Coralee McLaren, Arsenio Andrade, Robert Glumbek,
John Ottmann, Kate Hilliard, Louis Laberge-Cote, Kenny Pearl, Marianne McIssac, Paul Moody, Allen Cole, David Warrack, Nicole Pantin and Allen Kaeja.

She is a certified American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Instructor (Pre-Primary-Level 5) and has extensive training in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in which she has obtained Advanced Level 2. With that, she is an associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD). She is also trained under the Acrobatic Arts syllabi, is a certified ADAPT instructor and is a proud member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.

Shaylin loves to constantly learn about her craft as she believes that the best teachers and artists are the ones who are continually learning. She will continue to inspire and share her extensive knowledge of dance with young dancers and artists as she fearlessly follows her dreams.
